While many Indians are still waiting to try 4G LTE connection in their
region, other countries are planning for 5G. The 5G Network, which is expected
to roll out in 2020, will pack some amazing speed. According to the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) announcement, the 5G will be
defined as a network capable of providing a transfer speed up to 20
gigabits-per-second.
Yup! with this speed, everything will be download within a few
seconds. Even the long HD print movies or even a whole Operating System. The
current 4G LTE network is only up to 150Mbps. Currently Google Fiber is also
providing a transfer speed of 1GB-per-second, but it is still less than what 5G
plans to offer. Hopefully, Google will also increase that by 2020 too.
“The 5G network will also have a capacity to provide more than 100
megabits-per-second average data transmission to over one million Internet of
Things devices within 1 square kilometer,” the Korean Times reports.
Before the official rollout in 2020, ITU will soon start accepting
technologies capable of running 5G standard. Some of the Korean Officials are
saying that they are planning to demo 5G network speed at the upcoming Winter
Olympics in 2018.
