Microsoft has partnered with iBall to launch its first PC-on-astick
device called Splendo. This small dongle will convert your TV or any other
Display with HDMI port into a Windows running PC. Just plug it on your TV and
you are good to go. The price of Splendo is Rs. 8,699 and the good thing is
that iBall is also giving a wireless mouse and keyboard too.
The company says that iBall Splendo will be available for purchase in
the Indian market starting early July. Talking about the features, Splendo
packs an Intel Atom quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of builtin
storage. The device runs Windows 8.1 Operating System. While the company hasn’t
revealed if it will get an update to Windows 10 or not, but we are expecting
Microsoft will provide the Windows 10 update to this device.
Splendo has a fan-less design, so everything will work silently. It
includes HD graphics, regal USB port, micro-USB port, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and
a microSD card slot.
Talking about the device, Vineet Durani – Director Windows Business
Group, Microsoft India said:
“The iBall Splendo is for people who love devices and want to be
connected all the time using multiple form factors. These users are tech
enthusiasts who love gadgets, have access to multiple TVs at home, love the
Smart TV experience and use Windows for browsing, social networking and
multimedia consumption.”
