Twitter removes 140 character limit from DM

Twitter has finally removed the 140 character limit from its Direct Message option. So, now you can say anything you want in your messages. The company says that it will be removed in July and for now developers can work on updating the GET requests to receive the full length DM messages, when Twitter flips the switch.

Twitter also made it clear that the tweets will be still only 140 characters long. These changes are only for the direct messages.

While the news might be good for many Twitter users who found 140 character limit disturbing. But many users would not love it. Now instead of saying what they want to say in 140 characters, they will have to write complete long message. But overall, it is good to see that now we can send longer direct messages without any word count limit.
