Google is currently working on a new major update for its Hangouts
app and it seems like the latest version will bring major UI changes to
the app. According to Android Police who received the yet to be released
Hangouts v4.0 app, the new user interface is quite improved and in the
favor of Material Design
.
According to the shared screenshots, it seems like Google will make everything a bit easier in the upcoming version of Hangouts.
As you can see, it no longer has that 3 awkward column layout, instead
of that it now uses a single-screen layout with a list of all your
conversations. When you will open any conversation you will notice
rounded corners around the message and a dedicated button for stuffs
like emoji, camera, stickers, attachments and more. There is an always
floating button which will allow you to create new conversations, video
calls or even group chats.
There are currently no details when Google is planning to
release the update. But as the app looks final now, so we might see the
update very soon.
