A couple of weeks back a new bug was discovered in iMessage. The bug
allowed anyone to crash iMessage by just sending a certain string of
unicode characters. When received, this text causes iPhones and iPads to crash and iMessage becomes unaccessible. While Apple already revealed a temporary workaround fix, but now the company has started fixing it permanently.
Apple has recently released the new iOS 8.4 Beta 4 to developers and
the good thing about this update is that it fixes that bug. So, after
installing it your device will be protected and no one will be able to
crash it via that particular string of unicode characters. The same type
of bug was also reported on Skype, Twitter and WhatsApp. But we haven’t
heard anything about them yet.
While developers can now download this new iOS 8.4 Beta update
on their iOS device, the normal customers will have to wait a little
more. Apple is yet to start the public roll out for this update. As
Apple Music is scheduled for release in June 30th, so this update might
come before that.
