On Wednesday, Spice Mobiles launched its latest X Life series smartphones in India targeting the first-time samrtphone buyers in the tier II and tier III cities. Under the series, the company has launched four smartphones; XLife 404, XLife 431q, XLife431q Lite and XLife 512. The smartphones have been announced at very affordable price points in the range starting from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4,499.
In regards to the launch, Amandeep Singh, CEO, Spice Mobiles said, “After extensive market research, we observed a product gap and significant market opportunity in the sub Rs 5,000 segment of smartphones offering both technology and design”. He added, “A large number of Indian consumers still use feature phones, hence there is huge upgrade potential towards smartphones and we are targeting first time users in tier II and III cities. We are delighted to launch our new X Life series of smartphones in Rajasthan, which is one of the largest feature phone markets in India.”
In terms of specifications, XLife 431q is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 5MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 1.3MP front-facing camera and a 1,750mAh battery.
While the Lite version, the XLife 431 Lite is also powered by the same 1.2GHz quad-core processor which comes paired with 512B of RAM, 4GB internal storage, a 3.2MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera.
Spice XLife 404 is a dual SIM, 3G enabled smartphone equipped with a 1,450mAh battery and is available in three color options including red, ivory white and champagne gold.
The XLife 512 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, an 8MP rear camera along with dual LED flash, a 2MP front-facing camera and a 2000mAh battery.
According to recent reports, Spice Mobiles has got some plans to expand its market share in the smartphone segment considering the huge upgrade of people using smartphone over featured phones.
