Surprising us all, Microsoft has today announced at its E3
2015 keynote event that Xbox One will be backward compatible with Xbox 360
games. So, now you can easily run all your old Xbox 360 games on your new and
powerful Xbox One console. But to do that you will have to have the original
disc of the game ready in the slot drive and the digital edition to the Xbox
One.
Making every Xbox fans happy, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer
said: “The games you have invested your time and money in will be able to be
played natively on your Xbox One,” and “We won’t charge you to play the games
you already own.”
Microsoft is starting with 100 game titles this holiday
season, but it will be adding more after that. This is the feature which most
of the Xbox One owners always demanded for and it is good to see that Microsoft
has decided to make it available. So, now Xbox 360 customers will not have to
re-buy some of their old favorite games just to play on Xbox One.
Microsoft is also making some backwards compatible titles
available for all the members of its Xbox Preview program.
